As we move through another week, we want to acknowledge that for Texans, it's not business as usual. We’re locals with deep ties to the Hill Country. We grew up at summer camps, as adults we look forward to spending time with our family in the hill country towns where we’re rooted. What happened in and around Kerrville is heartbreaking.
The loss of life, especially the lives of children, is impossible to make sense of. Several of us are mourning with close friends who are living through every parent’s worst nightmare. No words feel right in the face of that kind of grief. For what’s been taken.
We know we’re not first responders or a relief organization. But we’re part of this community. If you’re someone looking for ways to help, we’ll be sharing links and info where we can, largely compiled by others in the community who have been tirelessly pulling this information together.
If you’re a local business contributing to the effort, we’d like to help amplify that too.
For now, we just want to acknowledge the weight of what’s happened, the people living in the middle of it, and the long road ahead. Mostly, though, we just want to say that we’re hurting with you.
