Happy Election Day, Houston! I somehow managed to squeeze in my early vote just before the deadline, and when I say barely, I mean BARELY. My procrastination almost got the best of me, but we made it! If you haven't voted yet, today's your day. Don't let the clock win this one. I've got some helpful election information further down, so keep scrolling.

Now, onto a different kind of showdown. Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling: Texas Stampede II is coming to Ross Kelley Rodeo Arena in Pasadena on December 4 and 5, and we're giving away a pair of tickets to BOTH nights. That's two evenings of Japanese pro wrestling, wild moves, and plenty of drama. Enter our giveaway and let the wrestling gods decide your fate.*

TEXAS MONTHLY BBQ FEST: TOP 50 PICNIC

I don't know who needs to hear this, but driving to Lockhart for an afternoon of unlimited barbecue options is a perfectly reasonable weekend plan. Texas Monthly BBQ Fest: Top 50 Picnic returns to Lockhart City Park on November 8 with 35+ incredible barbecue joints, live music, and enough smoked meat to make you question your life choices. Plus, a portion of ticket proceeds supports Feeding Texas. My advice? Skip breakfast, wear something comfortable, and don't make any dinner reservations.*

LOCALS ONLY

  • Houston's getting a colorful makeover thanks to Big Walls Big Dreams, running through November 15. Local and international artists are painting more than 20 murals across the city, and there's even a mural scavenger hunt where you can win prizes. Time to explore a few new walls.

  • Not the most glamorous news, but definitely useful. Houston Public Works announced its November collection changes yesterday. Thanksgiving will shift Thursday and Friday trash pickups to Friday and Saturday, respectively. Consider this your reminder before your trash cans spend an extra day hanging out on the curb.

WIN STUFF

🚨 FOR THE FAMILY:

🔥 NEXT YEAR:

Let's make Houston a little more wholesome, shall we? Look out for your neighbors, be kind to strangers, support your community, and remember that showing up for your city matters. And yes, that includes voting. So one last time for the people in the back, if you haven't voted yet, go make your voice heard today. Love y'all, mean it.
