Option one is a ceramics painting party where my friends make plates, mugs, and bowls for the new place I’m moving into soon. Option two is Pilates in the park, a pool day, and everyone brings a vinyl that reminds them of me. I get to grow my collection AND have a little piece of each friend forever. How am I supposed to pick?! Help me!

• Percussionist Jose Amador & Terra Nova bring their Latin jazz sound to Doc’s Houston on October 17, mixing jazz with Latin and tropical influences. Spend your Saturday night somewhere with a little rhythm.

• A Wednesday night with Dave Chappelle sounds considerably better than whatever else you had planned. He hits Toyota Center on October 28 for a night of stand-up. Cancel the boring plans and get yourself there.

• Class is in session, but absolutely nothing educational is happening. Teachers Gone Bad Comedy: Loteria Ed. hits Punch Line Houston on December 6 with an 18+ show. Clock out and enjoy some teacher-approved bad behavior.

• New Year’s Eve plans for people who appreciate an early celebration have arrived. Head to McGonigel’s Mucky Duck on December 31 for Irish New Year, with fiddles at 4pm and midnight at 6pm. Ring it in Irish-style.
