What a weekend, what a weekend! I hit the thrift stores on Saturday for deals, hosted my Tuft Your Cat workshop Sunday, then spent Monday recovering, cleaning, and doing laundry. I did make it to the pool for a whole 30 minutes though, so basically a vacation.

• Houston has a new reason to brag! Houston native Regan Hutsell was crowned Miss America on Sunday, September 7. She took home the title during the national competition over Labor Day weekend.

• The chef behind Winnie’s is opening Little Bird in the Heights this fall. The Gulf Coast-inspired restaurant will take over 1815 N. Durham Drive with seafood, an oyster bar, patios and courtyards, plus artwork from Houston artists.
