I finally watched Practical Magic yesterday because my friends want to go see Practical Magic 2 tonight, and okayyyy, I get it now. It was so good. They really don’t make low-stimulation movies like that anymore. I was relaxed. I was invested. How many of y’all are seeing the new one? Because now I’m mad at myself for never entering our giveaway.

• Syd, co-founder of The Internet, is headed to House of Blues Houston on November 19 with her newly released album Beard in tow. Get lost in those smooth vocals for a few hours.

• Stand-up comedian René Vaca links up with That Mexican OT for a comedy show at Smart Financial Centre on December 3. Come see what happens when these two share one stage.

• The James Turrell Skyspace is finally back! After being closed for 28 months, Twilight Epiphany at Rice University reopened this week following a major renovation. The sunrise and sunset light sequences are back too, which means we officially have one of Houston’s prettiest free art experiences again.

• The Houston Polish Festival is bringing the pierogies. 🇵🇱 Head to Our Lady of Czestochowa September 18–20 for three days of Polish food, folk dancing, live music, a market, raffles, and more. Admission is free, so personally I would be allocating my budget directly toward how many pierogies I can reasonably consume.
