As my time in San Diego comes to a close, I’m actually kinda sad to leave. 😭 Tomorrow I’m heading to Los Angeles to squeeze in one last Disney trip before going home, but honestly? I feel like I needed a whole MONTH here to actually do everything. How have I been here for almost two weeks and still have a list?!
But Houston is giving me plenty of reasons to come home. Micah Edwards and Madeline Edwards are sharing the stage at The Heights Theater on August 29, and we’re making this giveaway EXTRA good. Enter to win a prize pack with a pair of tickets, a Madeline Edwards Fruit T-shirt, a Micah Edwards Texas Soul trucker hat, AND a limited-edition concert poster signed by Micah & Madeline. Yeahhhh, you want this one.*

Plus other just announced shows in Houston!
BEFORE SUMMER ENDS… USE THIS GUIDE
Houston summer is a full-contact sport, but staying home until October is simply not an option. We rounded up everything worth braving the heat for, from pool days and water adventures to concerts, festivals, patios, day trips, and places with aggressively good A/C. Consider this your cheat sheet for squeezing every last drop out of summer without spending hours figuring out what to do. Sunscreen up, grab a cold drink, and get outside. ☀️💦

THIS WEEKEND
FRI - MUSCADINE BLOODLINE at 713 MUSIC HALL* (WIN) |
LOCALS ONLY
August is running about one degree warmer than normal, with highs approaching 100 and triple-digit heat indexes expected. Apparently regular Houston hot simply wasn’t enough.
Local organizations are participating in a national week of action against automated license plate readers, with Houston events including neighborhood walks, workshops, and a film screening focused on surveillance and privacy.

One more sleep until Disneyland, which means I’m mentally already in line for a ride with a churro in my hand. Tomorrow’s newsletter may or may not be written with mouse ears on. No promises. See y’all then! 🐭
