Daily Email - Thursday - 04/30/26

Hi everyone, happy International Jazz Day. For today, your only assignment is to go out and hit a few spots I lined up for you or stay home and let something smooth play in the background. Either works. It’s also Thursday, which means Free Stuff Friday is tomorrow, and I did my part in lining up a few things for you.

Speaking of free, this one is a good start. Molly Tuttle and Maggie Rose take over The Heights Theater on May 7 for an all ages show. We are giving away two tickets plus an album signed by both artists. Enter now and see if this one lands in your plans.*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Afroman lands at House of Blues Houston August 9 for a night that does not take itself too seriously. It is part concert, part throwback. Roll through and get ready to sing.

  • October 5 at Toyota Center, Kacey Musgraves brings her live show to Houston with a set that moves from start to finish. Don’t miss out on this one. Get your ticket.

  • Foster The People hits 713 Music Hall October 17 with the Good Mourning Sunshine tour. If you’ve had them on repeat, this is where it all comes together live. Grab your spot.

  • Icon for Hire hits White Oak Music Hall November 13 for the Scripted 15 Year Anniversary Tour. If that album meant something to you, this is your night. Be there when it runs live.

  • Plus other just announced shows!

JAZZ EVENTS IN HOUSTON

International Jazz Day calls for going out and actually listening. Houston has no shortage of spots where you can catch a live set, sit for a while, and let the music carry the night. IRATION WITH TRIBAL SEEDS AT BAYOU MUSIC CENTER

Iration with Tribal Seeds at Bayou Music Center on May 10 feels like going back to those summer days when this was the only thing playing in the car. Windows down, nowhere to be, just driving around with friends and letting it run. If that era meant anything to you, this is your chance to step back into it for a night. Enter for a chance to win a pair of tickets and run it back.*

LOCALS ONLY

  • I’m really loving how Houston is bringing back Jazz nights and how sweet our community is. I will die on this hill that Houston has one of my favorite art scenes because not only are we the most diverse city in people, but artistic taste. Watching it all come together is truly so beautiful.

WIN STUFF

Is it me or can this weekend not come fast enough? I’m ready to chillllllll and maybe go to a vinyl listening lounge. How about you?
