I don’t know who approved this many Cons in one weekend but I’m obsessed. Sneaker Con, Thriller Con… and they’re both in the same convention center?? It’s the kind of plan where you go for an hour and next thing you know you’ve lost an entire day. I’m just letting you know now so you can emotionally prepare.

Also I’m not sending you into the weekend empty-handed. Madam Radar and Paul McDonald & the Mourning Doves are playing The Heights Theater on May 1, and you can enter to win tickets. Minimal effort, solid plans, and you get to act like you planned it all along.*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • June 6 at House of Blues Houston is for when you want to sit there like “wait… no actually how??” Michael Carbonaro’s magic makes zero sense in the best way. Go see it for yourself.

  • Kate Luxxe hits Warehouse Live Midtown on July 26 and this is your sign to do something a little different. Smaller crowd, good energy, and a night that just flows.

  • Julia Wolf plays Warehouse Live Midtown on September 19 and this is the kind of show you don’t overplan. You just go, stand there, and end up way more into it than you expected. See you there.

  • September 26 at NRG Stadium is going to be loud in the best way. Tokyo X is pulling up and this is not a sit-back kind of night. You’re in it from the start. Grab your tickets!

  • Plus other just announced shows from Logan Jahnke, Tyler Halverson, and more!

DAVID AND TAMELA MANN ARE COMING TO HOUSTON

David and Tamela Mann are bringing The Love & Relationship Tour to 713 Music Hall tomorrow night, and this one feels like a full experience. It’s real talk, a lot of laughs, and moments that actually hit. If you’ve ever watched them and thought “I love them together,” this is your chance to see it live. Grab your tickets, bring someone you love, and make a night out of it.*

LOCALS ONLY

  • While we’re on the subject of thrifting… I’ve been finding absolute gems at 2nd Street Thrift in Rice Village. While the designer stuff is pricey (obviously… and you’re better off on Japanese Ebay), they have a super affordable section where you will find at least a handful of things to take home!

  • Do713 is looking for a Content Intern to join our team. If you love writing, obsess over local culture, and have strong opinions about Instagram captions, this is for you. Email us today!

Being your weather girl is not in my job description, but it looks like we’re going to get rain this weekend and I do not want it to ruin your plans of being outside… so just bring an umbrella, okay??? You’ll be fine…
