Wow, what a Halloweekend, am I right? Every corner of Houston was packed, and I saw some seriously creative costumes. My personal favorite was a girl dressed as a cat holding a sign that said "CTRL + C." As someone who spends her entire day on a computer, I deeply appreciated that one.

Anyways, a little reminder that our cute new Do713 website redesign launched last week! We worked so very hard to make finding things to do around Houston easier and more enjoyable, so please take a look around. Feedback is always welcome!

And we're welcoming November with a giveaway to Nikki Glaser at Smart Financial Centre this Friday, November 6. Enter for your chance to win because after the chaos of Halloweekend, I think we could all use a good laugh.*

November is here, Houston, and our calendars are already looking a little ridiculous. Between festivals, concerts, holiday festivities, and all the excuses to get outside now that we're not melting, there's plenty happening around town. I've rounded up some of the best things to do this month so you can spend less time scrolling and more time actually doing stuff.

LOCALS ONLY

  • The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston has announced four temporary sculptures by local Latinx artists for its Cullen Sculpture Garden. They'll be unveiled during the free Harvest | Cosecha festival on November 8, celebrating the garden's 40th anniversary.

  • Before you toss that jack-o'-lantern in the trash, Houston has another idea. The city's annual pumpkin recycling program returned October 24 and runs through November 28, giving residents a way to compost their Halloween pumpkins instead of sending them to a landfill.
