It's almost Labor Day Weekend, and naturally, I'm trying to squeeze an unreasonable amount of fun into three days. I've got soooooooooo many things lined up for you, so start making those plans now because Friday, Saturday, and Monday are looking very busy.
Sunday is already claimed because you can come see me at Habibi Bazaar! I'll be teaching our Tuft Your Cat rug-making workshop at Habibi Bazaar with the Houston Humane Society, plus we're having a cat-themed vinyl market and a live performance by Marley Moon. Basically, we're dedicating an entire day to cats, art, and music, as we should. 🐱
And if you're already looking ahead to the next adventure, we're giving away tickets to MotoAmerica Superbikes at Circuit of The Americas, September 11–13. Nearly 190 mph racing, championship riders, and enough adrenaline to make your Apple Watch concerned.*
JUST ANNOUNCED
Houston indie rock favorites Young Mammals are linking up with fellow hometown band FROG HAIR at Dan Electro’s on September 18. Come support the local scene and discover your next favorite band.
Missing Daft Punk is basically a personality trait at this point. One More Time brings their full tribute experience to Ductwork on October 23 with replica helmets, a pyramid stage, and enough French house to temporarily heal us.
Comeback Kid has been keeping hardcore loud since the early 2000s, and they're bringing that energy to The Secret Group on November 9. If “Wake the Dead” still does something to your nervous system, you know where to be.
Thanksgiving Eve plans = handled. Ripe brings funky grooves, horns, and the kind of live show that refuses to let you stand still to The Heights Theater on November 25. Burn some calories now. Pie is coming.
Plus other just announced shows in Houston!
LABOR DAY PLANNING STARTS NOW

Houston officially celebrated its 190th birthday this weekend! The Heritage Society marked the occasion at Sam Houston Park with historic home tours, new exhibits, a downtown history tour, and, obviously, birthday cake from longtime Houston favorite Three Brothers Bakery. Cute little reminder that our city has come a looooong way since 1836.
Want real experience in digital media? Our fall/winter internship gives you the chance to create content, help build website features, curate local event guides, brainstorm campaigns, and learn how we connect thousands of Houstonians with the best things happening around the city. If you're creative and love Houston, let's talk.
