Monday already? I don't think I've fully recovered from the Bun B show. There was something really special about seeing thousands of people relive the same memories at the same time. It made me realize nostalgia is such a strange thing. We're constantly homesick for places, people, and moments that don't really exist anymore. I just wish we recognized them while we were living them. Anyway... enough of my Monday thoughts.
On a much lighter note, my very first CDs were Britney Spears' Baby One More Time and TLC's FanMail. Looking back, my music taste had range from day one. If those names instantly unlocked a core memory for you too, enter to win tickets to catch TLC, Salt-N-Pepa, and En Vogue at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on October 4. 🎤💕

YOUR GUIDE TO THE HEIGHTS
Some neighborhoods have one thing they're known for. The Heights somehow has everything. Incredible food, neighborhood bars you'll want to become a regular at, local shops, art studios, weekend markets, and streets that practically beg you to spend the afternoon wandering around. It's equal parts laid-back and lively, which is probably why so many Houstonians love it. Here's where to eat, drink, shop, explore, and make the most of your next Heights day. 🌼

THIS WEEK
MON - KICKBOXING CLASS at MARKET SQUARE PARK (FREE) FRI - MASEGO at HOUSE OF BLUES |

One of Central Texas' most famous barbecue spots is finally making its way to Houston. Terry Black's Barbecue will officially open its first Houston location in the Heights on August 18, serving its legendary brisket, massive dino beef ribs, smoked turkey, house-made sausage, and classic sides. The new restaurant will also feature indoor and outdoor seating, six giant offset smokers, and even behind-the-scenes pit tours for barbecue fans.

I'm heading back to San Diego soon, which means I'll be reunited with the box of my old diaries that my mom has somehow managed to keep all these years. (Deeply embarrassing.) If you'd like me to expose the inner workings of a dramatic preteen navigating the early 2000s, let me know. We can all take one more trip down memory lane together.
Cheers,
Pamela
